VISITING NORTHWOOD

We’re always glad to welcome visitors to Northwood, whether you’re arriving by car or enjoying a day out on Grand Lake St. Marys. Our neighborhood has a peaceful, laid‑back atmosphere, and we appreciate everyone who helps us keep it that way. As you explore, we invite you to keep the information below in mind so your visit is comfortable, respectful, and enjoyable for everyone who calls Northwood home.

VISITING THE LIGHTHOUSE

The lighthouse is a beloved landmark in our community, and we know many visitors enjoy taking a closer look. We kindly ask that everyone remember that the property surrounding the lighthouse is someone’s home. To respect the homeowner’s privacy, please enjoy the view from the road or designated public areas and avoid walking onto the yard, driveway, shoreline, or dock unless you’ve received specific permission from the homeowner.

Your care helps us preserve both the charm of the lighthouse and the comfort of the neighbors who call that spot home. Thank you for helping keep Northwood welcoming and respectful for all.

TRAVEL BY CAR

If you’re driving in, please take it slow as you make your way through the neighborhood—our streets are quiet, and many neighbors walk, bike, and spend time outdoors. You’ll often see kids playing outside, so a gentle pace helps keep everyone safe.

We also kindly ask that visitors avoid parking on private property unless invited by a resident. Driveways, yards, and all dock areas are privately owned, and keeping them clear helps maintain the peaceful, respectful atmosphere our community values.

TRAVEL BY BOAT

For those visiting by boat, we’re happy you’re enjoying the lake alongside us. Please note that Northwood does not have public boat docks, and all docks within the neighborhood are privately owned. We kindly ask that visitors respect private property and avoid tying up, docking, or coming ashore unless you’ve been invited by a resident.

Whether you’re here to see friends, enjoy the lake, or simply take in the scenery, we hope your visit is relaxing and pleasant. Thank you for helping us preserve the calm, neighborly spirit that makes Northwood such a special place.
